Rajasthan Engineering Courses Admission Through REAP

The engineering courses admission in Rajasthan for the academic year 2015-16 would be carried through Rajasthan Engineering Admission Process (REAP).

Earlier, Board of Technical Education, Rajasthan had cancelled the Rajasthan Pre-Engineering Test (RPET), which was the qualifying entrance exam for admission to engineering courses in various government colleges, aided or private unaided technical institutes in the state.

The introduced REAP would consider the scores of Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2015 scores or class 12 marks, as per the choice entered by the aspirant in their application forms.

As per the REAP new scheme, more than 50% of seats would be filled through JEE Main 2015 merit list and remaining will be based on class 12 merit list. Aspirants are allowed to choose any of the choice as selection channel. The board will prepare the separate list for the candidates.

According to the board officials, 70% of the technical institutes’ seats would be filled by only Rajasthan Students and 15% of seats for management quota and remaining 15% for non-Rajasthan students. For other state candidates, the merit list will be prepared based on JEE Main score.

The issue of the REAP 2015 online application form would commence from this month, date yet to be announced.
