Private Engineering Colleges of Telangana are for Sale!

The Telangana government has slashed down the funds for the fee reimbursement scheme, which made some of the private engineering college managements to sell their colleges.

Around 38 private engineering colleges are in list to sell the colleges. The number might increase in future days. The college management has decided to sell the colleges before commencing the EAMCET 2015 admission process.

Earlier in 2012, the former Chief Minister Kiran Kuman Reddy introduces the fee reimbursement scheme in the benefit of students. Later, the present Chief Minister has planned to make the scheme more critical. Only fewer students can avail this benefit.

More than 14 lakh students had the benefit of the fee scheme. But the change in the scheme made only to 8 lakh students to have the benefit.

According to the reports from the state government, most of the colleges are yet to pay the fee to the govt, which is around 6 crores.

Earlier, the state government had disaffiliated the 175 engineering colleges for violating the norms. Presently, around 280 engineering colleges are there in the state.

A total of 1.70 lakh engineering seats is available for admission in Telangana. Around 1.10 lakh candidates has applied for EAMCET 2015.

The aspirants of the state are planning to move to near states to get seats in other engineering colleges.
