Mysore Medical College - One of the oldest and reputed medical colleges in India

Mysore Medical College (MMC), Mysore was established in 1924 by Sri KrishnarajendraWadeyar. It was the first medical college in Karnataka and 7th in India. It is one of the oldest and most reputed medical colleges in India.

The college is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bengaluru. Admission to this college would be carried by Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET), which is conducted by the Government of Karnataka or through All India Medical Entrance Examination.

The college has four attached hospitals are;

  • K.R Hospital
  • Cheluvamba Hospital
  • P.K.T.B and Chest Diseases Hospital
  • Sri Jayadeva Institute if Cardiovascular Sciences and Research


The institute is located in the heart of Mysore City in the Karnataka state. The college has facilities like, laboratories, separate hostels for boys and girls, medical facilities, auditorium, sports club, cafeteria, library and attached hospitals.

The institute offers MBBS course with 150 seats intake. Out of this 85% of seats will be filled by the KCET and 15% by all India entrance examination. The college has well experience faculty members.
